Tunisia, Morocco Sign Agreement to Promote Employment





A framework cooperation agreement was inked Tuesday in Tunis by the National Agency for Employment and Self-Employment (French: ANETI) and Morocco's National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Competencies (French: ANAPEC).


The signing ceremony was attended by Acting Minister of Youth, Sports and Professional Integration Sihem Ayadi and Moroccan Minister of Labour and Professional Integration Mohamed Amkraz. .

The agreement provides for exchanging expertise and experiences in connection to job promotion, the development of entrepreneurship and openness to experiences in the African continent.



The agreement was signed by ANETI Director General Férihane Bousoffara and Acting Director General of the Moroccan agency Yahya Akash.



The two officials outlined action strategies in the both agencies which are mainly focused on the digitisation of services provided to job seekers, people who wish to set up their own business and business managers. Training is another thrust to improve employability.


Under this agreement, the two signatories undertake to support South-South cooperation in employment through twinning agreements intended to develop mechanisms of support geared towards job seekers, in addition to the organisation of joint fairs and exhibitions to promote employment and entrepreneurship and the exchange of expertise, notably in relation to the development of employment support mechanisms.


Ayadi laid emphasis on cooperation in vocational training and employment and said Tunisia is willing to scale up cooperation in youth and sports.
